IN NTOUNIAS WE CAN SHOW YOU
how a traveller can taste the farmer's everyday life flavours.
At Ntounias, we believe that the best way to understand Crete is to live it — through its food, its land, and the wisdom of everyday village life. Our workshops invite you to step into this world and discover traditions that have been preserved for generations.
WORKSHOPS IN NTOUNIAS
At Ntounias Farm, our workshops offer a unique opportunity to step away from the modern world and reconnect with the land. Here, surrounded by the peaceful landscape of the White Mountains, you’ll experience the authenticity of Crete through practical, hands-on activities rooted in tradition.
You’ll begin by exploring our farm — the heart of everything we do. Depending on the season, you might harvest vegetables from the garden, pick wild herbs, collect fresh eggs, or help with simple tasks that keep the farm running. These activities are more than chores; they are part of a way of life that honors nature and respects the rhythm of the land.
As you immerse yourself in the daily flow of the farm, you’ll discover the foundation of Cretan culture: simplicity, sustainability, and genuine connection. We share the knowledge our families handed down to us — the same practices our grandparents used to cultivate the earth, raise animals, and prepare nourishing meals.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll have the chance to observe traditional techniques and understand why slow, mindful preparation creates flavors that cannot be replicated in modern kitchens. You’ll learn how every ingredient carries the story of the soil, the sun, and the care with which it was grown.
But the true essence of our workshops lies in the atmosphere. You’ll spend time with local people, hear stories of the region, and enjoy the warm hospitality that makes Crete so unforgettable. It’s about feeling welcomed, slowing down, and reconnecting with what truly matters.
